#VERSE
I have a cotton candy elephant
He’s nine feet tall
His colors match the freaky Fauvist paintings
On my bedroom walls
My pachyderm pal glows in the dark
Cause I feed him phosphorescent kelp
He bakes bread for me to give my friends
But eats half of it himself
#VERSE
He’s on a mission to spread peace
Wants us all to stop stressing
Says the objects we trade our time for
Aren’t worth possessing
We take leisurely walks to clear our minds
And as we plod along
We look under rocks and leaves
For the chorus of a song
#PRE-CHORUS
And here comes a chorus right now
Painted like a rainbow
And bigger than a cow…
#CHORUS
Cotton candy elephant
Take a walk with me
You’d melt in the rain
But it’s sunny, you see
Spread your multi-colored message
To everyone who’ll listen
Cotton candy elephant
We love your peaceful mission
#VERSE
Some people see the elephant
But still aren’t convinced
“It must be a mirage
Those creatures don’t exist”
Some people say they would believe
If there were only proof
Just look at my bedroom floor
The rainbow piles tell the truth
#VERSE
So, yes, he is quite messy
And he eats my rent in hay
But it’s worth it for the joy he brings
On every sunny day
He takes me for a walk
You’ve never seen so many smiles
As people take selfies with his rainbow trunk
And painter-palette piles
#PRE-CHORUS
And here he comes once more
We’ve had our kaleidoscopic bond
Since the day he knocked on my front door
#CHORUS
Cotton candy elephant
Let’s take a walk and meet new friends
Your fans would like an autograph
Use your trunk to hold the pen
There’s not a mean bone in your body
You bring kindness to fruition
Cotton candy elephant
We love your peaceful mission
#BRIDGE
I hope you’ve liked my story
There’s only one last thing to tell
We were walking by the river
In the water he fell
My cotton candy soulmate
Melted in a bright rainbow display
Now the freaky Fauvist paintings
Have to brighten up my day
#INSTRUMENTAL
#VERSE
I’m so sorry that he’s gone
There’s no more proof that he existed
Now the only place he’s mentioned
Is where Bigfoot gets listed
#PRE-CHORUS
He was such an awesome pal
We hold a peaceful rainbow vigil
Every year by that canal
#CHORUS
Cotton candy elephant
Plod through our memories
Let your chorus help implore us
To live a rainbow life of peace
There were no bones in your body
You were a soft-souled apparition
Cotton candy elephant
We love your peaceful mission
Cotton candy elephant
We love your peaceful mission
Cotton candy elephant
We love your peaceful mission
